Change Customer Number

The Change Customer Number transaction changes the customer's primary number to a DMV assigned alternate customer number.

This transaction is used to change .....

a social security number to a DMV assigned alternate number

a DMV assigned alternate number to another alternate number

a customer's number tied to a Motor Carrier(MCS) customer number to the MCS number

Social Security number

Change back to the prior customer number

To Change a Customer's Number

1.If not already open, Open the Customer Console using the customer's number or name.

Transaction Menu

1.Click the Transaction Menu button in the Main Menu Bar.

2.Navigate to Customer Transactions>Customer>Change Customer Number(CUSTID) and click it. The Change Customer Number Inquire form opens.

3.Click the Inquire Button_Inquire button to open the Change Customer Number transaction form.

4.Continue with step 2 below.

Command Line

1.  Enter CUSTID on the Direct command line, then press the Enter key.

2.  The Change Customer Number transaction form opens.

3.  Continue with the steps below.

2.   Enter the required information as indicated by the Button_RequiredField icon and any other information needed. Then click the Process Button_Process button. The Transaction Details dialog appears with the Transaction Processed message along with the new customer number.

3.   Click the Close Button_Close button to complete the transaction.
