Before a customer's vehicle can be registered (or re-registered), in the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, or Stafford, or the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Manassas or Manassas Park, their vehicle must meet emission inspection requirements designed by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VA DEQ).
The Emissions Information inquiry displays the emissions data on the vehicle record for a specific vehicle.
To inquire on a vehicle's Emissions information
1.If not already open, Open the Customer Console using the customer's number or name.

If the customer has more than 10 active vehicles, you will see the following alert:
1.Clicking the button will launch the Vehicles Currently Owned by Customer selection grid. a) If active, click the More Data Available button to list more vehicles. b) Click the to see more information about the vehicle. Click the Select button next to the vehicle to view the vehicle information. c) Scroll down to the Emissions Information section to review the emission information. |

Vehicle Grid |
If the customer has less than 10 active vehicles, use the Vehicles grid to view current plates on the vehicle(s). 1.Expand the Vehicles section by clicking somewhere in the green bar. The Vehicle grid includes an Emissions indicator. A "Y" indicates emissions is required on the vehicle. 2.Click the in the Direct field next to the desired vehicle. 3.Select Vehicle Information. VEHINQ appears in the Direct field. 4.Click the button. The Vehicle Information screen opens with the customer, vehicle and registration information populated. 5.Scroll down to the Emissions Information section to review the emission information. |

1.Click the Transaction Menu button in the Main Menu Bar. 2.Navigate to Vehicle Inquiries>Registration Information>Emissions Information(EMSINF) and click it. The Emissions Information inquire screen opens. 3.Continue with the steps below. |

Command Line |
1. Enter EMSINF on the Direct command line, then press the Enter key. The Emissions Information inquire screen opens. 2. Continue with the steps below. |
2.Enter the required key (VIN and Garaged Jurisdiction) and then click the Inquire button. The Emissions Information screen opens with the vehicle and emissions information populated.
3.Scroll down to review the emissions information.
4.Click the Close button to close the Emissions Information screen.
