The National Motor Vehicle Titling Information System (NMVTIS) is a national titling information system for motor vehicles designed to help prevent the trafficking of stolen vehicles by allowing participating states to verify the validity of titles before issuing new ones.

 

The types of NMVTIS inquiries available are:

1.Verify Validity of Title

2.Verify History of Title

Before performing an inquiry, you must know the VIN, title number, and titling state.
