Not Connecting to Application

Attempt to determine where the problem is occurring:

1.mySelect may be attempting to download an update.  Updates are downloaded automatically (for most sites) prior to the application starting up.  On slower connections and/or with larger updates, it may seem like mySelect hasn't started, although it may be downloading an update.  Updates are typically released on Thursdays, about once per month, prior to 6:30am.

To determine if mySelect is running an update:

1.Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete.

2.Click the Task Manager button.

3.Scroll through the list of processes and look for DMV.Select.Root.exe.

If you find that process in the list and the update never completes, manually download the update from this location:https://select.dmv.virginia.gov/select/downloads/selectsetup.exe

To determine if you can connect to the Internet:

1.Open your browser and navigate to: http://www.dmvnow.com.

2.From the Online Transactions menu, select Plate Purchase.

If you experience a failure here, your Internet connection is not allowing you to connect to mySelect.  Contact your IT Support Department.
