The Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) is a web-based service that helps benefit-granting agencies (federal, state and local) ensures the immigration status of the license or ID card recipients are entitled to receive them. SAVE does not determine if the applicant is eligible to receive the license or ID card.
The SAVE Program is administered by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Verification Division, of the Department of Homeland Security.
Processing a SAVE verification
When processing an ID Card and using a Legal Presence type code that needs to be verified, mySelect will send the information entered to the SAVE website for the verification.
Before the Legal Presence document information is sent to SAVE, mySelect will display a message to verify what was entered. This allows you the opportunity to re-key any missed keyed document information.
Click NO to go back to the previous screen and make the necessary corrections to the document information entered.
Click YES to send to SAVE.
1.When the SAVE response is returned to mySelect and the documents were acceptable, mySelect will populate the SAVE Verification Number, the SAVE Verification Date and a "N" in the SAVE Further Review field into the SAVE fields. 2.The ID Card issuance process may continue as normal. |
1.If the document information was entered correctly and the SAVE response is returned to mySelect that the documents are NOT acceptable, mySelect will populate the SAVE Verification Number, the SAVE Verification Date and a "Y" in the SAVE Further Review field. 2.The CSR will scan (via the front counter scanner) the following to Identification Review (IR) for further review •the customer's application •documents provided •authorization number from SAVE •Customer's contact number 3.If IRS determines the non-verification is correct or acceptable, IRS will update the document information via the CUIDNM screen in host. The CSR will receive notification from IRS to proceed with the transaction. 4.If IRS has to research further into the unacceptable documents, the CSR will receive a response from IRS advising them to notify the customer so they may leave. IRS will contact the customer at a later time or date to review the results with them and advise them to return to the CSC or not. 5.IRS will update the SAVE information received from their verification research and update the information via the CUIDNM screen in host and notify the CSR. 6.Once the update has been made by IRS and the customer has returned, the credential may be issued. |
