Revision Date: 09/25/2007
DESCRIPTION:
Certain vehicle transactions processed in the Customer Service Center (CSC) can be processed only by CSC management and management designated staff, or require the entry of an assigned authorization code to process.
CSC management should use discretion when assigning password and/or processing authority to designated employees. While the exact number of designated employees will be at the discretion of management, guidelines such as the number of employees, size of office, and hours of operation, are to be considered.
VEHICLE TRANSACTIONS WITH LIMITED PROCESSING AUTHORITY:
Management selects qualified designees and forwards a list of management and designee names and login IDs to District Office requesting the login IDs be added to the system. Once programmed, the system automatically recognizes authorized management and management designee logins.
Listed below are the vehicle transactions limited to CSC management and selected management designees:
- Changing the customer number on a vehicle record via the Maintain Vehicle Owner screen,
- Changing customer name and/or customer type on a vehicle record via the Maintain Vehicle Owner screen.
NOTE: These transactions are processed on the Maintain Title/Maintain Vehicle Owner screen in CSC Net.
VEHICLE TRANSACTION AUTHORIZATION CODE:
A Customer Service Center (CSC) is assigned a unique authorization code that must be entered in the system when processing certain special vehicle transactions. The code should be handled with strict confidentiality by all employees authorized to use it.
Listed below are the special vehicle transactions that require an authorization code:
- Illegal Transfer (Registration Transfer)
- Stolen Vehicle Stop (Title Issue)
- Overload Pending Authorization
- Dealer Out Of Business (Title Issue)
- Transfer Name Override (Registration Transfer)
