This function is reserved for lead/management level roles

Using the Open Vital Record Pack feature, VDH paper packs are assigned and can be inserted into a PRINTER in the Work Area.

To Open/Assign the Vital Record Pack

1.If the Inventory Management Console is not already open, from the main button bar, click the Inventory button.  The Inventory Management Console appears.

2.Click next to External Agencies.

3.Click next to VA Dept of Health.

4.Click next to Vital Record Paper.  All VDH paper packs are displayed.

    VDH paper pack is available to be assigned
    VDH paper pack is already assigned.

5.Locate the Vital Record Paper pack to be opened, then right-click on that pack.  A pop-up appears with two options: Open Vital Record Pack and Void Inventory.

6.Click Open Vital Record Pack. The Assign Vital Record Paper Inventory dialog appears for you to specify which PRINTER you would like the Vital Record Paper assigned.

7.From the Select Printer where Vital Record pack will be assigned drop-down, select the appropriate PRINTER.

Each Work Area is associated with one printer.  If you do not know which printer belongs to which Work Area, please see How to Identify What Printer is attached to what Work Area.

5.Click the checkbox in the Assign column next to the range of Vital Records Paper packs to be assigned.

6.Click the Assign Vital Record Pack button.  The dialog closes and the following message appears advising you to verify the Vital Record paper count and insert the documents into the assigned printer:

8.Click the OK button.

9.Verify the total number of Vital Record Paper documents match the number of documents as displayed in the Vital Record Pack.

10.Insert the VDH paper documents into the printer. You are now ready to process Vital Record transactions.
