Pending Emissions Inquiry

The NMVTIS Pending Emissions Inquiry is used to inquire on a vehicle with a pending emissions inspection. The vehicle emission inspection requirement is added by the Department of Environmental Quality when a vehicle is registered in the Northern Virginia area. The pending emission information is pulled into the vehicle registration transaction process when the customer registers their vehicle or renews.
To process a Pending Emissions Inquiry

1.Click the Transaction Menu button in the Main Menu Bar. 2.Navigate to NMVTIS Transactions>NMVTIS Inquiries>Pending Emissions Inquiry(PENINQ) and click it. 3.The Pending Emissions Inquiry inquire form opens. 4.Continue with the steps below. |
Command Line |
1. Enter PENINQ on the Direct command line, then press the Enter key. 2. The Pending Emissions Inquiry inquire form opens. 3. Continue with the steps below. |
1.Enter the Vehicle's VIN and year, then Click the Inquire 
button to open the Pending Emissions Inquiry information.
2.If the vehicle has only one pending emissions, the Pending Emissions Inquiry screen opens displaying the emissions information.
If the vehicle has multiple pending emissions, the Pending Emissions Inquiry - Selection grid will open displaying a list of pending emissions.
• If active, click the More Data Available 
button to view more inquiries.
• Click the Select 
button next to the desired Year to navigate to that pending emissions.
Once selected, the Pending Emissions Inquiry screen opens displaying the information.
3.Scroll down to view the information as needed.
4.Click the Close 
button to exit the transaction.
