Replacement Title

A Replacement Title is a second or subsequent title issued when the original title has been lost, mutilated, or is illegible.

Please refer to the Vehicle Licensing Guide, as needed.

To process a Replacement Title

1.If not already open, Open the Customer Console using the customer's number or name.

Alerts Grid

There are no alerts for this transaction.

Vehicle Grid

1.Expand the Vehicles section by clicking somewhere in the green bar.

2.Click the Button_DownArrow in the Direct field next to the desired vehicle.

3.Select TTLDOC2  Replacement Title. TTLDOC2 appears in the Direct field.

4.Click the Button_QuickLink button.  The Replacement Title form opens.

5.Continue with step 4 below.

Transaction Menu

1.Click the Transaction Menu button in the Main Menu Bar.

2.Navigate to Titling Transactions>Replacement Title(TTLDOC2) and click it.

3.Continue with the steps below.

Command Line

1.Enter TTLDOC2 on the Direct command line, then press the Enter key.

Not available for this transaction.

2.The Replacement Title inquire form opens. Enter the required key information (title number and VIN/VIN4).

3.Click the Inquire Button_Inquire button. The Replacement Title transaction form opens with the customer and vehicle information populated.

4.Scroll down and enter the required information as indicated by the Button_RequiredField icon and any other information as needed.  

5.Click the Process Button_Process button.

If a replacement title has already been issued for the day, mySelect will display the following message.

Click OK to continue.

The Manager Authorization box will display. You will need to get the manager/supervisor to authorize in order to continue the transaction.

After the manager/supervisor has entered their credentials, mySelect will display this message and the title will not be allowed to print.

Note: If the first title issued was an original title then the host message will not display.

6.The Transaction Details dialog for payment information displays.

7.Process Payment.  The payment transaction is processed and the system sends the documents to your default printer. The Title Document Number Processing dialog then  appears with the next available title number pre-populated.

8.Retrieve your documents from the printer.

9.Verify the printed title document number matches the number shown in the Title Document Number Processing dialog.

Then ...

The title document number matches.

1.Click the Update Button_Update button.

The title document number does not match.

1.Enter the correct number in the Document Number field.

2.Click the Update Button_Update button.

The title document does not print at all.

1.Enter the reason in the No Print Reason field.

2.Click the Close - No Print Button_CloseNoPrintbutton.

The title document is damaged during printing or the quality is unacceptable.

The Receipt Details dialog then appears.

10.Click the Print Receipt Button_PrintReceipt button, if an additional receipt is needed.

11.From the Receipt Details dialog, click the Close Button_Close button.

12. The Transaction Details dialog appears with the TRANSACTION PROCESSED ######## message (########=the title number).

13.Click the Close Button_Close button to close the Transaction Details dialog.

14.Click the Close Button_Close button to complete the transaction.

SB 715 provides for transfer of title upon death of owner.  If you attempt to add a lien to a title and there is a beneficiary, the system will display an informational message advising the beneficiary will be removed.
