A Substitute Title is issued when information on the previously issued title changes. DMV will collect appropriate fees for the issuance of a substitute title except when the substitute is issued to correct a DMV error when issuing the original title. The exception is a no fee substitute title.
Please refer to the VLIC-156, as necessary.
To process a Substitute Title
1.If not already open, Open the Customer Console using the customer's number or name.

2.The Substitute Title inquire form opens. Enter the required key information (title number and VIN/VIN4).
3.Click the Inquire button. The Substitute Title transaction form opens with the customer and vehicle information populated.
4.Scroll down and enter the required information as indicated by the icon and any other information as needed.
If a substitute title has already been issued for the day, mySelect will display the following message.
Click OK to continue.
The Manager Authorization box will display. You will need to get the manager/supervisor to authorize in order to continue the transaction.
After the manager/supervisor has entered their credentials, mySelect will display this message and the title will not be allowed to print.
Note: If the first title issued was an original title then the host message will not display.
6.The Transaction Details dialog for payment information displays. Process Payment.
7.The payment transaction is processed and the system sends the documents to your default printer. The Title Document Number Processing dialog then appears with the next available title number pre-populated.
8.Retrieve your documents from the printer.
9.Verify the printed title document number matches the number shown in the Title Document Number Processing dialog.

The Receipt Details window opens.
10.Click the Print Receipt button, if an additional receipt is needed.
11.From the Receipt Details dialog, click the Close button.
12. The Transaction Details dialog appears with the TRANSACTION PROCESSED ######## message (########=the title number).
13.Click the Close button to close the Transaction Details dialog.
14.Click the Close button to complete the transaction.
