A Supplemental Lien Title transaction is used to add, change, or transfer a supplemental lien on a vehicle.

A supplemental lien is a lien that is recorded on a Virginia title after the original title has been issued.  The owner is responsible for having the new lien recorded.

To process a Supplemental Lien / Same Lienholder transaction

1.If not already open, open the Customer Console.

2.From the main menu bar, select Transaction Menu > Titling Transactions > Supplemental Lien / Same Lienholder.  The Supplemental Lien / Same Lienholder inquiry form appears.

3.Click the button next to the Lienholder Code field.  The Lienholder Selection dialog appears.

4.In the Name field, enter the name of the lienholder, then press the Enter key.

5.Click the button next to the correct lender.  The Lienholder Selection dialog closes and the lienholder's information is populated in the associated fields.

6.Click the button.  The Supplemental Lien / Same Lienholder transaction form appears.

7.Enter the required information.

8.Click the button.  The transaction processes, then the Transaction Details dialog appears.

9.Click the button.
